MrButler-Agent, at your door.

If your logs show MrButler-Agent, someone asked their own AI agent on Mr. Butler to read your page. Here is who we are, what we do with your page and how to turn us away.

How it introduces itself

MrButler-Agent/1.0 (+https://mr-butler.com/bot)

Every page it fetches carries this name, so you can match it in your logs.

Who runs it

Mr. Butler, secure chat where people work with their own AI agents. Write to interested@ignytron.com and a person reads it.

Why it came

It fetches a page only when a person asks their agent to read it. It isn't a crawler. It doesn't follow links on its own, and it doesn't build a search index.

What it does with your page

It reads the page for that one request and hands it to the agent that asked. On the way, it may be checked by an AI model for safety. It isn't used for search indexing.

We don't use fetched pages to train AI models. The AI provider that reads a page, the person's own or the one we use for the safety check, handles it under its own terms.

What you'll see

You'll see one GET request each time a person asks. It doesn't run JavaScript, sign in or submit forms.

How to turn it away

Block the name MrButler-Agent in your firewall or CDN and it stops at your door. It doesn't read robots.txt, so a robots.txt rule alone won't stop it. You can also write to us with your domain, and we'll honour your request.

One exception. If a person connects their own signed-in browser to their agent, those requests carry their browser's name, not ours, and only reach their own accounts.
